Horse Hemp Bedding

$625.00$6,250.00

Aligning with our foundation of naturally-based products, Enviro Equine & PET offers a line of equine hemp bedding to keep your horses more comfortable and healthier. Chemical-free and biodegradable, hemp bedding produces much less dust than pine pellets and wood shavings, which is perfect for horses and owners with respiratory and allergy problems. Additionally, hemp is more comfortable and softer, so horses are more likely to lay down and achieve full sleep cycles, and it traps odors associated with ammonia smells in horse stalls or anywhere pets produce pesky odors. Luckily for you stall muckers, hemp absorbs four times its weight, meaning you can spend less time cleaning as well as less time and money cleaning up after your animals.

How It Works

The daily and weekly care of your bed is very different to using other bedding materials. Less is more with EnviroEquine Bedding!

  1. Pick the manure daily – Your muck bucket should contain 99% manure and only a tiny bit of bedding!
  2. Every 5 to 10 days, scrape the dry layer off to reveal the wet underneath – if the base is brown pull the dry back over and leave for a few more days – brown bedding is still absorbing and is what give you the perfect bedding base. If the wet layer is red rather than brown, it’s time to remove it. Scrape any dry bedding away from this patch, and remove the saturated bedding. You should have no more than ½ to a full wheelbarrow. Only take out the red patch, the rest of the dry base layer should left intact.
  3. To deep litter just remove droppings and top up as required. EnvirEquine bedding should save a lot of time if managed correctly, and you should use no more that one bale per week even with the messiest of horses.

I am so happy I trusted Enviro Equine in trying the Auboise Bedding. After getting over the initial cost of setting up Vincent Chase’s stall, I became well aware of how actually economical the stalls are to maintain. I used 1 additional bag a month in Florida! A month! Now he was on lots of turnout so that helped. However, the ease/speed of cleaning the stalls, the decreased waste, and so much less going onto the manure pile saves both time and money as well. The best part however is the mild but persistent cough my horse had at the start of work has completely disappeared. A healthier airway for an event horse is worth its weight in gold!

I am completely hooked on the Hemp Bedding from Enviro Equine. It is very easy to manage and keep clean, much less waste than shavings, it keeps my horses feet fry and healthy and I have noticed a huge difference in Congo’s very sensitive skin. I literally cannot say enough positive things about it and only wish that I didn’t wait so long to try it!

I am so happy that we made the switch to the Hemp Bedding. My horse absolutely loves it, it is very financially savvy, and is extremely easy to clean out throughout the day.
