Born in Colombia, Daniel Bluman started riding at age 3. In 2004 he won the FEI Children’s International Jumping Final. Daniel won the WEF Finale Grand Prix, his first 5* Grand Prix, in 2012, and later that year he was a finalist at the Olympic Games in London. In 2014, Daniel led Team Colombia to a gold medal at the Central American Games and to tenth place in the team competition at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy, a feat never before achieved for Colombia. In 2015, Daniel won the Rolex Grand Prix in Central Park, and he finished his first Global Champions Tour season in ninth place overall in the rankings the next year. Also in 2016, Daniel represented his country for the second time at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Since changing nationalities at the end of 2016 from Colombia to Israel to honor his Jewish roots, Daniel has further continued his winning ways personally and for the budding Israeli team. In 2017, he championed the $300,000 Hampton Classic Grand Prix at the Hampton Classic Horse Show, and in 2018 he won both the $205,000 NetJets Grand Prix CSI4* and $384,000 Fidelity Investments CSI5* Grand Prix at WEF as well as the $85,000 GroupBy “Big Ben” Challenge at Royal Horse Show, among other impressive results. That same year, he competed in another World Equestrian Games, this time for Israel, and added more blue ribbons to his trophy case in 2019, with wins including in the $391,000 Douglas Elliman Grand Prix CSI5* and the €400,000 Rolex Grand Prix at CSIO5* Rome Piazza di Siena. Daniel has produced every Grand Prix horse he has ridden, from the Young Horses classes onward. His focus has always been to buy affordable young horses, training them to the highest level. Daniel now has Bluman Equestrian locations in Florida and New York, and is also a partner in The Ten Horse Auction.
